Diana Krall - Girl In The Other Room - Pop Music CD Review

Girl In The Other Room is the latest Pop CD put out by the highly talented Diana Krall who once again has delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I'm confident Diana Krall fans, and Pop fans alike will be pleased with this one.

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce that's exactly what I must say about this one. There simply isn't a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it's own.

Diana Krall is one of those musicians that has the ability to just win you over with her talent. The kind of artist it's really a treat to be able to listen to.

I give Girl In The Other Room my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.

While this entire CD is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 1 - Stop This World, track 2 - The Girl In The Other Room, and track 6 - Love Me Like A Man.

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 9 - Narrow Daylight. Good stuff!

How to Create Dynamic Web Content for Your Site in Five Easy Steps!

Your website or blog content area should be designed with simplicity in mind at all times. The navigation bar should be so easy to use that a blind person should have no problem with getting around your web pages with ease. Your main content text should be black, with a background that is as light as possible so your readers can easily see all the text on all of your web pages. When you use underlined text, you should only use it for hyper-links that will take your web reader to another page that gives them more details on a particular subject or topic.

The way to conjure up dynamic web content is by keeping your writing tone very informal, such as the way you talk to a good friend or a close neighbor. Always write in a vibrant tone that conjures up explicit images of whatever your subject matter is. Leave the passive and meek writing tones to your competitors who are not ever going to have the amount of website visitors that you will when you develop the skill of bringing dynamic web content to your website.

BORING WEB CONTENT EQUALS NO WEB VISITORS
No matter what subject matter you are writing about, if your writing style is too wordy, no one will ever be compelled to read any other article written by you ever again. To avoid that, you should describe your subject matter with the least amount of verbiage possible. For example, this sentence structure is far too long: "For a complete listing of all of our products, please go to our website at www.postalservice.com and hit on the "letters" page to see more of what the USPS system can bring to your company and satisfy all of your postal service needs." Before you scan to the next paragraph what are the exact words you should remove from this boring sentence to bring out the dynamic web content in the sentence that will make compel the web reader to actually go to that website?

How does this sound instead? "At www.postalservice.com, your postal needs will be satisfied by clicking on the "letters" category on our main page listing." You see how that simple phrase is far more compelling than that previous sentence? By examining every single sentence on your web pages and deleting monotonous words and phrases, you will achieve that goal of having dynamic web content in every web page on your main site.

MAKE YOUR POINT NOW!
Reader fatigue is a huge problem for web readers when it comes to reading small content text on every site they come across, so make sure your text is as large as possible to avoid this issue. Another way to alleviate reader fatigue is by making your subject headings in every paragraph extremely bold and to the point.
1. GENERATE COLUMNS
When you have a text-heavy series of paragraphs in your web pages, you should consider using columns for that article because the viewer's eyes are just focused on the downward text style in a thin column area instead of having to read the entire length of the web page.
2. SHORT PARAGRAPHS
By giving the reader most of the pertinent information involving your main topic in the first sentence, you reduce the amount of total words used to convey your main argument of your article. Try to keep a five line maximum for any paragraph in all of your web pages.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION SHOULD ALWAYS BE HIGHLIGHTED
This should come as no surprise to most web content writers out there because most of you use this writing technique on a daily basis. It is essential that you highlight your paragraph headers every time your write a new article or blog as this allows your document to be organized into different sections. When you also include your keyword phrases in the headers, you are also increasing your chances on getting a much higher search engine ranking.

A great way to generate dynamic web content is by breaking out important information into a bulleted list that is easy to read by your many web viewers. Your site visitor's eyes will gravitate towards these bullet lists in a natural manner which will guarantee that they will read all of your relevant web content you want them to.

AVOID ALL SPELLING ERRORS TO ENSURE DYNAMIC WEB CONTENT
The final and most important way to keep all of your new website visitors from leaving your site within a few minutes is by checking and re-checking all of your web content for spelling errors. The best way to do this is by using Spell Check first, and then go back in to your web pages and examine your web content for grammatical errors as well.

Always put yourself into the mind of a new visitor to your web pages. Will he be turned off by your many spelling errors and overall shoddy web page design? If so, you need to finish reading this article and thoroughly edit every web page on your site until they are free of any spelling and grammatical errors.

Why Did They Start Hip-Hop

Why did they start hip-hop in the first place is a question most people who were not raised up on hip hop or in the projects ask all the time. That's kind of the short answer too being that most of them all about 99 percent of the originators were from the projects. So let's just rap it up that way and say that it was started because there was nothing else to do in the freakin hood. what use to happen is people from the neighborhood would get out and start rapping without a beat and soon enough a crowd would form and then a local DJ would show up and spin some records and before you know it there was a block party jumpin off.

There was no money being paid to anybody, $50,000 dollar videos were not planned to be shot and record companies were definitely not trying to sign the next hottest ghetto rapper. All you had was some good 'ole fun with average everyday men and women rhyming about the times they were going threw in their part of the hood and before that it was just about partying...PERIOD.

Somewhere corporate America got involved and turned Hip-Hop into a multi-billion dollar business train that cannot be stopped if you tried extremely hard. It's not going to stop it's to big and too many people have their hands within the pot. Record companies are making more money than they ever made by signing street kids to put together some nursery rhymes with slick metaphors and delivery. It's absolutely the easiest thing they can do right now.

Why, you ask?

Well signing a Rock group requires that you actually have a group of men or women who can sing and play instruments. Pop stars have to sing, dance and have a lovable public face or it will never work and Country singers have to play instruments too and complete with some of the most loyal music fans on this earth. African Americans have always been gifted across the board when it comes to entertainment. I don't care if you are talking about sports, dancing, fine arts or anything else you want to put in this the mix. My answer to the question why did they start hip-hop is simply to survive. Ask any one person who had something to do with it and after they give you your public text book answer you will certainly come to a point within' that conversation where they will mention we had to survive.

Sing Karaoke - Karaoke Origins - The Great Social Equaliser

Karaoke is, without doubt, the definitive social equaliser. Regardless of your walk of life, no one is immune to the fear and nervousness of stepping up to a microphone to sing in front of a captive audience. Whether performing for friends, family, work colleagues or complete strangers, the fear of making a complete "ass" of yourself can haunt us all.

Karaoke is often considered as the ultimate DIY (Do-It-Yourself) experience, but don't despair, it needn't be the usual inevitable DIY disaster. By understanding the origins of Karaoke and by simply following a few basic Do's and Don'ts, as well as putting in a bit of private practice, you should be able to easily and quickly master the Art of Karaoke.

The Origins of Karaoke

The Narrow View: The general held view is that Karaoke (literally translated as "Empty Orchestra") originated in Kobe, Japan in the early 70s and the phenomenon quickly became institutionalised in its country of origin and other East and South East Asian countries. While met with slowly growing acceptance in Western countries (especially after a drink or two!), wider scale / mainstream popular recognition has only really been achieved in the last 6 or so years as a result of the success of the UK "wannabe a star" TV talent program Pop Idol and its associated spin-offs in over 30 other countries.

The Wider View: Perhaps a more considered view is that Karaoke, in a Western cultural context at least, should really be regarded as just a further step in the evolution of the notion of public singing. This phenomenon has been steadily growing in popularity for centuries in Western realms. The roots of this type of singing can be traced back to the general process of industrialisation, with the emergence of the working classes as a political force in society and their desire to be identified by common interests. In the UK, you only have to look at the popularity over the last 100 years or so of singing in pubs, music halls and working men's clubs to appreciate the connection.

Today in a more socially equal, cosmopolitan and mobile society, the advent of the Karaoke Machine by Daisuke Inoue in the 70s can simply be viewed as just the application of technology to an already firmly established Western Cultural past time.

So go on, why not enjoy Karaoke. We've been doing it for generations!

National Athem of the Kingdom of God

The Lord is my Shepherd... that's relationship.

I shall not want.. that's supply.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures... that's rest.

He leads me beside still waters... that's refreshment.

He restores my soul... that's healing.

He leads me in the paths of righteousness... that's guidance.

For His name sake... that's purpose.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death... that's testing.

I will fear no evil... that's protection.

For you are with me... that's faithfulness.

Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me... that's discipline.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies... that's hope.

You anoint my head with oil... that's consecration.

My cup is running over... that's abundance.

Surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life... that's blessing.

And I will dwell in the House of Yahweh forever... that's security.

As any Bible reader knows, the above is taken from the Psalm 23. The Bible contains the history, promises, and covenants that God made with His servant people, the Israelites (not to be confused with ancient or modern "Jews"). Most of the Bible deals with government... how to live in peace with each other, and other nations.

North America was preserved by God as the final promised land for the re-gathering of the representatives of each of the 13 tribes of Israel. Colonial America had 13 colonies and Canada had 13 provinces for the double portion blessing of the first born. Rueben was the first born son of Jacob/Israel, but lost his birthright to the sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh. The
history of the sons of Israel is well documented, but little believed because it conflicts with the "traditions of men".

But God doesn't lie and He doesn't forget what He promised to the decendents of Jacob/Israel. One of the promises was to give them His divine Law to live by. Today, the American legal system doesn't even recognize divine Law. There is only human law which covers everything from buckling your seat belt to murder.

Today, Christians restrict God's rule to just the spiritual realm. It has not always been this way. Less than a hundred years ago it was commonly believed that God's Law encompassed everything... spiritual and temporal. Terrible and bloody conflicts like World War I (1914-1918) caused people to question this belief in God's rule on earth.

Because of death and destruction caused by disease and wars, people began to believe that God really doesn't care, or He 'allows' evil. Their blind Pastors began to ignore scriptures like Isaiah 45:7... "I (God) form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create EVIL: I the LORD do all these things." And Amos 3:6..."shall there be EVIL in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

Christians began to doubt the power and sovereignty of God and began to believe in fables. They believed that God is "good" and Satan is "evil", and poor old God just can't control the Devil. No wonder Christianity has fallen on hard times. Without faith that God is the "doer" of it all, it becomes a tug of war between God and Satan, and Satan seems to be winning. The truth is: God IS sovereign and can do anything, anytime, and any way He chooses. Who is puny man to question the superior wisdom of Almighty God?

As for me, I pledge allegiance to the Kingdom of God, and to the King of creation; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.
